Holland State Park After Action Review:
When I was in the Army we always had After Action Review after every mission or operation.
We we can't improve if we don't talk what happened.


In attendance was:
Jim, Larry, Peter, Carl, Russ
I hope I did not miss anyone there was a LOT of people.

I was the first to arrive at around 8:10 p.m.
The gate guard didn't know anything about us or whether to charge me admission or not.
This is not the first time that this issue has come up.
Maybe bring this to the attention of the park ranger.

There was not a shortage of people. I guessament around 50 to 100 but it could be as high as 150
Most of the night there was 10 to 15 people lined up behind all of the scopes.

I overheard a few comment of "where do I go now" "What do we do"
One thing that might help us is to have a welcome table.
Every 20 minutes or so we could give a short sky tour pointing out few of the major constellations, like the zodiac signs Big, Little Dippers...
Talk about and hand out brochures about the club.
Answer questions....
Have them sign a guest book so we get up a better count of how many people come through.

We probably had enough scopes ( of course we could ALWAYS use more! ) but what we're really lacking were bodies to answer questions.
A couple of my thoughts about this:
ask one of the Scout troops and they like to come and help out.
talk to science teacher and see some of the students could come out and help for extra credit.
1 person volunteer to be the greeter.

Over all it was a great success and I hope we can do it again this summer!!!!!
